Buffet’s Weekly Picks (April 8th - April 14th)

We had some beautiful weather to start this week but it will be cooling off heading into the weekend – with some rain repeating from last weekend unfortunately. Super lame, mais c’est la vie.
Our Culinary Pick: Stella
Description: Stella is a new restaurant that opened in West Hollywood in the old Madeo’s location. This Italian two-story restaurant is the perfect date spot. Walk inside & take a seat at the bar, or head downstairs & get a full glass view of the pasta being made, in-house. They incorporate old-age Italian traditions with modern day dining through their handmade & fresh ingredients & mid-century design.
Why We Like It: The food, service, & ambience was great when we dined here – difficult for a new restaurant to accomplish. We tried both, the dirty martini & the espresso martini here – 10/10. For the best dining experience, we recommend dining at a table on the lower level. The restaurant is central to nightlife in LA & we will certainly be heading back here.
Final Thoughts: If you’re looking for a suave Italian meal & delicious seasonal ingredients & drinks, this is definitely the place to go. Because Stella is central to nightlife in LA, it’s perfect for a date where you can audible a night out on the town afterwards if the vibes are right. Get that espresso martini & make the 4 minute drive (12 minute walk) to bring the energy over to the Troubadour for a fun night.
Our Activity Pick: Silverlake Flea
Description: Voted the best Indie flea market in LA by LA Weekly, come by Fridays between 10am & 3:30pm, Saturdays 8:30am & 3:30PM. or Sundays 9:30am & 3:30pm to see some of LA’s best handmade vintage creations.
Why We Like It: The home furnishings, home decor, crafts, arts, & antiques are beautiful & even if you don’t end up buying anything, the vibes are great for a casual walk & browse with a friend. & if that’s still not enough – it has the perfect amount of cute for some candid instagram story posts!
Final Thoughts: Whether you’re on the hunt for a unique statement piece to adorn your home or simply looking to enjoy the indie tapestry of LA, the Silverlake Flea Market does not disappoint with its blend of charm, creativity, & community. Come & wander its aisles with a new friend!
Our Event Pick: Candlelight Downtown LA: Neo-Soul Favorites
Description: A candlelight string quartet concert featuring songs by Childish Gambino, Frank Ocean, SZA, & more! On April 11th, at 9 PM in Zipper Concert Hall, listen to some of your favorite songs in a new way!
Why We Like It: We’re huge fans of neo-soul, some of us having listened to Frank Ocean & Childish Gambino when they first released music back in the early 2010’s. We’re really interested in what kind of listening experience the concert will be. From the candlelit theater to almost nostalgic hits played in a new classical form, it’ll be a great way to feel the music in a whole new way.
Things to Keep in Mind: As with most any event, there are tickets for this concert. But the price range is $57 – $78.50. Not bad for a live theater performance! If you’re interested, make sure to buy tickets soon.
Final Thoughts: For those of you not attending Coachella but would still appreciate some good music, we think this would be the perfect opportunity for you. This is also perfect for fans of Bridgerton-style song covers! Take advantage of the 9 PM show time & grab dinner with a friend or date at San Laurel or Vespaio nearby before curtain call. Or extend your evening with a drink at Kippered or The Slipper Clutch! Whatever you choose, make the most of your night on the town!
