Burgers, beach, and EDM - BWP April 22nd - 28th

Buffet’s Weekly Picks (April 22nd - April 28th)

This week's recs include burgers, beach, and EDM.

We are back again with Buffet’s Weekly Picks! Did you miss us?? We hope you had a great weekend despite the colder weather. For those of you attending Stagecoach this weekend be on the lookout for another email this week with some more recs from your pals at Buffet ;).

We’re looking at some low 70s this weekend & partly cloudy this weekend. Don’t let the clouds fool you though; with a 9 on the UV index, make sure to apply sunscreen!

Our Culinary Pick: Burgette

Burgers, beach, and EDM - BWP April 22nd - 28th
The charcuterie spread of our dreams at Burgette.

Description: Want burgers but are tired of the same old same old every time you get a patty & fries? Then try out this new Parisian-inspired burger spot in Santa Monica. This mix of American & French cuisine is approachable with small plates & cheeses, while maintaining a fun fare of flavors.

Why We Like It: Being a foodie means trying out a bunch of different & new cuisines. But sometimes, you just want a classic meal without feeling like you are cheating yourself out of a gastro adventure. Burgette solves that issue for us. Who doesn’t like cured meats & cheeses (girl dinner, anyone? Or is that trend over?) before having a delicious, juicy burger with elevated flavors? They have dishes for a variety of diners, from grazers to big eaters, so this is a great spot for a bigger friend group.

Final Thoughts: We love the idea of mixing the all-American burger with French cuisine to create an experience that everyone can enjoy. Whether you’re looking for charcuterie & wine or a melt-in-your-mouth cheese burger, Burgette will deliver that & more. Definitely try their chocolate croissant for a fluffy, flaky, & buttery end to your meal!

Our Activity Pick: Manhattan Beach

Burgers, beach, and EDM - BWP April 22nd - 28th
Another beautiful sunset at Manhattan Beach (they have a lot of these).

Description: A cute, walkable beach town with lots of shops, restaurants, & sights. Just a bit south of Venice & Santa Monica is a bit of a slower paced coastal neighborhood – perfect for that chill Saturday or Sunday you’ve been looking for.

Why We Like It: Manhattan Beach is great for a relaxing afternoon, with tons of options on how to spend your time. Start on Manhattan Beach Boulevard to browse the boutique shops, grab a bite to eat at a local restaurant (some with outdoor or open air dining), & then stroll down to the pier where you can take a walk on the sand or walk out to the roundhouse & pet some starfish – two finger touch only, people! You can even stay later into the night to check out a local classic – Shellback Tavern.

Final Thoughts: As we near summer, take advantage of the fair weather & spend some time in Manhattan Beach. From bottomless mimosas at the Rockefeller, to surfing at El Porto – there is definitely something for everyone in Manhattan Beach so we at Buffet definitely hold it in a special place in our hearts. Be sure to make the most of your weekend & see what this little slice of Los Angeles has to offer.

Burgers, beach, and EDM - BWP April 22nd - 28th
Robin Schulz, German DJ and musician

Description: See DJ Robin Schulz this Saturday, April 27th at 10 pm at the Vermont Hollywood. With hits like Waves, Sugar & Miss You, the EDM vibes will be alive & well in East Hollywood. It’ll be the perfect opportunity to dance to crowd pleasing house music with some of your friends.

Why We Like It: As much as we like going to our morning workout classes on Sunday, we still like to party on Saturday (sometimes)! As we’ve hinted before, we are EDM fans over here at Buffet & this is some prime nostalgic intro house music for us. We remember listening to Waves back in high school & can only imagine how fun it’ll be to listen to it live with fans. Additionally, since most of Schulz’s music incorporates lyrics, this will be a good event to bring friends who have yet to be turned to the sweet sound of beeps, synths, & bass.

Things to Keep in Mind: Like any concert, you have to buy tickets. However, general admission is only $30! Definitely a steal considering most music event prices these days! If you’re interested, make sure to get your tickets before the sell out!

Final Thoughts: Finally, a Saturday night event for you guys! As the weather warms up & we steadily move from spring to summer, chaotic, fun summer energy starts to increase & needs an outlet! & there’s no better one than dancing to iconic house music from Robin Schulz!

We’ve got some great picks for you this week – from cute beach town afternoons to EDM nights out in LA, we’re sure you can find something that fits your vibe. As always, be sure to check back here next week for another round of our top picks and download Buffet from the App Store if you’re looking for a person to try our picks with!
