Our TechCrunch Feature - Buffet Tackling Loneliness Epidemic

Our TechCrunch Feature

We’re back with a cool update: we were featured on TechCrunch. Definitely go read the article for yourselves but we’ll give you some excerpts here.

Buffet App Screens

A new app called Buffet is aiming to address the loneliness epidemic by helping users meet new people by quickly matching them with a person and a place to meet up (think Tinder + OpenTable). The app is designed to remove the barriers and hassles that come with meeting new people and then trying to find a place to hang out. Buffet aims to help users meet like minded individuals, whether they’re looking for a new friend, romantic partner, or gym buddy. (Source: TechCrunch)

Like we’ve mentioned in our previous articles, face-to-face interaction is so important! And we want to make that as easy as possible for our members. Whether it’s romantic or platonic, having strong social connections is vital to your wellbeing. The best way to build and maintain those relationships is, you guessed it, in person! (preferably starting on Buffet though)

“The app will be free to use for the foreseeable future,” Hacking said. “We want to win over users. We want to build trust and right now, when you read the market, people are frustrated with all of the paywalls.” (Source: TechCrunch)

We couldn’t agree more, Mr. Hacking! Having to pay to make friends or meet the love of your life sounds like something out of a Black Mirror episode. The experience you have as a member of the Buffet community is our top priority. From giving you weekly suggestions on places, activities, and events to connecting members through their interests, everything we do seeks to bring you one step closer to a genuine, in-person connection.

We won’t give too much more away so go take a look at their article! And as always, download Buffet!
